Gaming is one of my major hobbies and something I’ve done my whole life. I enjoy all forms – video games, tabletop board games, interactive room size games, whatever you got! I do prefer cooperative or single player games over competitive games, especially every person for themselves competitive games. I enjoy game more when everyone has fun together!

I have been a gamemaster for games like Pathfinder and D&D with friends and at gaming conferences. I have streamed video games on Twitch and participated in fundrasing streamathons. I was even on the Bozo show as a child!

Play is one of the best ways to keep your mind and body in good shape!

Something else that keeps me happy and healthy is cats. Felines of all kind are amazing! I don’t know why I am so fascinated by them, and to be clear I do love all animals but cats are my favorite. I have even shown my moggies (the cat word for mutt) in cat shows. My one cat Magritte, a long-haired tortiseshell, won 7th best out of 28 cats! That means other people thought she was as cute and fluffy as I did!

Cats are though interesting creatures and I enjoy having them as pets. My current critters always seem to sense when I need a laugh or a distraction or a cuddle and provide the right interruption at exactly the right time. Life would not be the same without them.

Its not all work – I do find time to play too! The past few years have been filled with life changes both big and small. Its impossible to sum up a lifetime with bulletpoints but I am going to give it a go anyway. Here are some of the highlights of my life – and I am sure I am leaving out too many to remember!

I have always been a tech geek, early adopting most new tech as soon as it hits the market. Noteably I never owned an IPhone – I originally went the Windows phone route (I bought several phones straight from Japan) and then switched to Android when it was invented. I do have an IPad so its not that I don’t appreciate the Apple eco-system, I just never had the opportunity!

After the first Android phone, I switched between android and windows phones until the Samsung Galaxy was released and I have been there every since.

I was also an early adopter of the Amazon Alexa systems. I have been a member of their systems so long I get early access to products that sometimes don’t hit the live market! Things like the original Echo, Look, Auto, and Astro are still alive and active in my house to the delight of houseguests!

When the CEO of the company I had spent the last 25+ years at decided to retire and close the company, it was a bit of a shock.

• Is there anyway to stop this from happening?
• Who even was I without this job?
• Am I even employable in today’s market? 

After collecting myself and my thoughts I  realized this was the opportunity I had been waiting for. Too often over the past several years I have wanted to take a chance on a business venture or new job or branch out on my own but I always had excuses. I was too busy with work, the money was too good, I could work and do the other thing (yea, right!).

But now I have that opportunity and I am going to make the most of it. Onward and upward towards adventure and success!
